This Category 3 subject-specific workshop, part of the IB’s Managing assessment in the MYP series, equips science teachers and MYP coordinators with the knowledge and tools to design and implement sound assessment strategies.

Develop high-quality, concept-based assessment tasks, aligned with subject-group objectives.
Construct and refine internal assessments, including investigative tasks and data-driven evaluations
Analyse and map tasks to eAssessment formats both ePortfolios and on-screen exams.
Strengthen assessment literacy in science, integrating MYP’s holistic, criterion-based approach.
Target Audience
This workshop is intended for experienced IB MYP Science teachers who are familiar with the programme and wish to strengthen their confidence, consistency, and effectiveness in designing and implementing criterion-based assessments. It is particularly relevant for educators seeking to refine their practice, support student learning through meaningful assessment tasks, and contribute to a cohesive, school-wide approach to MYP science assessment. The workshop also supports MYP coordinators and curriculum leaders responsible for guiding assessment planning, moderation, and quality assurance in line with IB standards and practices.
