Course Description
Understand AI, explore ethical use in education and develop pedagogical knowledge around AI.What is artificial intelligence (AI) and how can educators ethically utilize it for teaching, learning, and assessment? AI systems and tools are rapidly being deployed in schools. AI offers many potential benefits for teachers and students but also comes with the potential for harm or unintended consequences.
Learning Outcome
- Develop an understanding of what AI is and is not.
- Develop an inquiry into the role of humans in AI systems and the ethics of AI in education.
- Develop pedagogical knowledge around AI in teaching, learning, and assessment.
Target Audience
This workshop is recommended for all classroom educators who wish to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) in K-12 education. Previous experience with artificial intelligence (AI) in education is not required.

Raja is currently the Principal of an IB Continuum School in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with more than 25 years of experience as an educator and school leader across Ontario, Canada, and the UAE. An IB Educator Network (IBEN) member for over 20 years, she has supported schools worldwide in various PYP leadership roles, including Consultant, Evaluation Leader, IB visit Chair and Progra mme Leader.
Raja is a certified Early Years Specialist through the HighScope Educational Research Foundation (Michigan, USA) and holds a Master of Education degree from Murdoch University. She also serves as a Cognia Engagement Review Team member and a school inspector with Tribal Group.
A Jordanian-Canadian educator and proud mother of four, Raja has contributed to numerous local and international conferences, forums, and educational initiatives. She believes that thriving learning organizations are built upon the coherent integration of student learning, professional learning, and system learning.
