DESIGNING INCLUSIVE, ENGAGING CLASSROOMS: Station Learning Through UDL and Blended Learning
Description
This workshop will provide concrete strategies to assist teachers on their learning journey to transforming classrooms into active learning environments through station teaching and learning.
This interactive, practice-oriented workshop is designed for IB MYP and DP educators seeking to deepen their understanding of differentiated instruction through the strategic use of station teaching. Grounded in the principles of concept-based learning and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), the workshop will guide participants in designing inclusive, engaging and intellectually challenging learning experiences that meet diverse student needs.
Across four structured sessions, participants will explore how station teaching can be used as a powerful pedagogical approach to support varied readiness levels, learning profiles, and interests within the IB framework. Emphasis will be placed on aligning station activities with key IB elements such as the Statement of Inquiry, Approaches to Learning (ATLs) and Global Contexts to ensure coherence and conceptual depth in lesson planning.
Teachers will engage in hands-on activities to design and refine lesson plans that incorporate multiple learning pathways, formative assessment strategies, and purposeful differentiation. The workshop will also highlight how UDL principles can be embedded to remove barriers to learning and promote accessibility for all students.
