Course Description

his Category 1 workshop introduces educators to the philosophy, structure, and practical implementation of the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) component of the IB Diploma Programme. Participants will explore the role of CAS within the DP core, understand the requirements for student engagement and reflection, and learn how to guide students in planning meaningful CAS experiences. Through collaborative discussion and hands-on activities, educators will become confident in supporting students in balancing creativity, physical activity, and community service as part of their learning journey.

  1. Understand the aims and role of CAS within the Diploma Programme.

  2. Apply the CAS learning outcomes and learning process in guiding student experiences.

  3. Support students in designing, documenting, and reflecting on their CAS programme.

Target Audience

This workshop is designed for educators who are new to the IB Diploma Programme and have been assigned responsibility for implementing or supporting the CAS component in their school. It is particularly useful for CAS coordinators, DP coordinators, and other staff involved in student development.
