Course Description
These workshops are designed for participants who are keen to improve the teaching and learning experience in the DP classroom.
Learning Outcomes
- IB Standards & Subject Integration – Unpack IB Programme standards and practices to guide subject delivery, linking teaching approaches to the DP Core (TOK, CAS, EE) and promoting international-mindedness.
- Extended Essay & Supervision – Consolidate understanding of the extended essay, including world studies interdisciplinary EE, and the role of the supervisor in guiding students.
- Teaching & Learning Strategies – Design inquiry-based, metacognitive, and self-regulated learning strategies that develop conceptual, procedural, and factual knowledge aligned with assessment objectives.
- Assessment & Student Progress – Analyse assessment tasks, IB subject reports, and reporting strategies to address challenges, monitor progress, and enhance student achievement.
- Professional Collaboration & Resources – Engage in collaborative planning, professional learning communities, and use IB resources (TSM, programme resource centre, publications) throughout the curriculum life cycle.
- Reflection & Programme Evaluation – Reflect on teaching practice, curriculum planning, and the teacher’s role in programme evaluation to strengthen horizontal and vertical coherence.
Target Audience
Diploma Programme (DP) subject teachers who have prepared students for at least one DP exam session in that specific subject. Educators should enroll in a category 2 workshop in their particular subject area.
- IB Certification
Anjel Lublubjian is an experienced international educator, school leader, and IB practitioner with over 18 years of experience in IB World Schools. She began her career in 2007 as an MYP Mathematics and DP Psychology teacher and has since held a range of leadership positions, including DP Coordinator, Extended Essay Coordinator, ATL Coordinator, Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, and Acting Principal.
Most recently, Anjel served as Middle and High School Assistant Principal at ACS International School Doha, where she led initiatives in curriculum development, teaching and learning, assessment, and academic programming. She is currently joining Al Raha International School in Abu Dhabi. Since 2015, she has also taught DP Psychology online through Pamoja.
A dedicated contributor to the IB community, Anjel has served as an IB DP Psychology Examiner since 2016 and has reviewed DP and CP Psychology course outlines. She is also an IB School Evaluation and Programme Leader, workshop leader, and visiting team member. Anjel holds a BA in Psychological Counselling and an MA in International Education and is passionate about supporting educators and schools in delivering high-quality IB programmes and fostering meaningful professional growth.
