My name is Amer Malhas, and my passion for woodworking and design began as a child. I was fascinated by the smell of cedar wood coming from a neighbourhood carpentry workshop, and this curiosity led me to attend woodcraft summer camps at a young age. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong interest in designing and creating.
I grew up in Amman, Jordan, and earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial, followed by a postgraduate teaching qualification and a master’s degree in urban design and architecture.
I have more than 30 years of experience teaching design and technology in international schools across Jordan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Throughout my career, I have established design technology departments, developed innovative curricula, and taught students from middle school through the diploma programme.
As an educator, I am committed to inquiry – based learning that empowers students to become creative, responsible global citizens. My expertise includes product design, woodworking, architecture, CAD/CAM technologies, electronics, curriculum development, and design technology education within international programmes such as the IB and IGCSE.
